The Wisconsin Grocers Association stays in touch. We implement a variety of technologies to communicate and we value face-to-face time. WGA honored Tim Metcalfe with a 2009 Community Service Award.

WGA Communications

The Wisconsin Grocers Association continues to find better ways to communicate with our members. We know that not all of our grocers check email on a regular basis, check faxes or even go through their mail. We know that most retailers are too busy to take a day to attend a seminar, the WGA Expo or a legislative day at the Capitol. So, it is our continuous goal to find the best and easiest way to communicate with our members.

WGA President’s Letter
WGA President Brandon Scholz began sending the President’s Letter—a weekly, electronic newsletter—early in 2008 and has received positive feedback from members, suppliers and others on his distribution list. The e-newsletter includes tidbits on Wisconsin retailers, warehouses and vendors; the economy; government affairs, and other industry information specific to Wisconsin.

Sign up to receive the e-newsletter, contact Brandon Scholz.

Government Affairs Conference Calls
Get in on government affairs conference calls. Conference calls are limited to a half-hour and include quick updates on legislative and regulatory issues as well as briefings by legislators and other special guests. We guarantee we will not waste your time.

Please watch the President’s Letter for information on upcoming calls or contact Michelle Kussow.

Wisconsin Grocer Magazine
Our high quality, four-color magazine, the Wisconsin Grocer, is filled with locally-written and industry-specific stories. We highlight our members and discuss timely legislative and industry issues. Let us know what topics you would like to see.

Member Mailings
The WGA member mailings are the primary way we communicate with members. Member mailings are an accumulation of important and timely information sent out as needed.

WGA Web Site
The WGA web site houses the most information about the Wisconsin grocery industry on the internet. We are amazed at the high number of hits our web site receives each month, confirming that the information is useful.

Face-to-Face
Finally, the best communication we have is personal contact. We encourage you to take advantage of the WGA scheduled events planned for 2009. These are great opportunities for networking and for gaining valuable information to help your business.
